Job description

Hospital Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands and interprets hospital health systems? We're looking for experienced health data governance leaders to help ensure that the clinical and operational data powering next-generation AI models is accurate, trusted, compliant, and fit for purpose.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You'll bring your deep knowledge of hospital data ecosystems, regulatory frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration to a project where the stakes are real — and your impact is measurable.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Define and enforce governance standards that ensure hospital health records are accurate, consistent, secure, and compliant
  • Collaborate with clinical, IT, compliance, and operational teams to align data policies and workflows across the organization
  • Evaluate and improve the quality, structure, and reliability of health data used for clinical decision-making, reporting, and analytics
  • Identify gaps in data integrity and develop clear, actionable controls to address them
  • Support the development of AI training datasets grounded in real-world healthcare data governance best practices
  • Work independently on task-based assignments on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health information operations
  • Strong command of healthcare privacy, compliance, and regulatory frameworks — including HIPAA and related standards
  • Skilled at working cross-functionally with clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented and systematic — you understand how data quality failures ripple through patient care and operations
  • Clear, structured communicator who can translate complex governance concepts for diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Familiarity with EHR systems, health data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD coding), or clinical data warehouses
  • Background in health informatics, clinical operations, or hospital compliance
  • Experience designing or auditing data governance frameworks at an enterprise level

Why Join Us

  • Work at the intersection of healthcare data and cutting-edge AI — a rare and high-impact combination
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level work
  • Contribute to AI development that could shape how health data is understood and used at scale
  • Exposure to large-scale health data systems and real-world AI model training pipelines
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
