About the Role

What if your expertise in healthcare data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with clinical and operational health data? We're looking for experienced Hospital Health Data Governance Leads to help ensure that hospital data is accurate, trusted, compliant, and ready to support the next generation of healthcare AI systems.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You'll bring your deep knowledge of healthcare data, regulatory frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration to work that sits at the intersection of patient care, compliance, and cutting-edge AI development.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Define and apply data governance standards to ensure hospital health records are accurate, consistent, and secure
  • Evaluate and improve data quality frameworks that support clinical decision-making, regulatory reporting, and operational analytics
  • Identify gaps in data policies, workflows, and controls — and recommend practical, compliant solutions
  • Collaborate across clinical, IT, compliance, and administrative domains to align data practices with governance requirements
  • Assess healthcare datasets for integrity, completeness, and fitness for analytical and AI training use
  • Provide structured, expert-level feedback on data governance scenarios and healthcare data challenges

Who You Are

  • Experienced in healthcare data governance, clinical data management, or health informatics
  • Deep understanding of healthcare privacy, compliance, and regulatory standards — including HIPAA
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders
  • Naturally detail-oriented and systematic — you know what good data governance looks like and why it matters
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or healthcare data review workflows
  • Background in health information management, clinical informatics, or healthcare compliance
  • Familiarity with AI training datasets or model evaluation processes
  • Experience with EHR systems, data dictionaries, or interoperability standards such as HL7 or FHIR

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading healthcare AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level work
  • Contribute to AI development that has a direct impact on how health data is understood and used at scale
  • Apply your healthcare expertise in a new and expanding domain with real-world significance
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
