Nursing Informatics Specialist
Job description
Nursing Informatics Specialist (AI Training)
About the Role
Your clinical experience has real value beyond the bedside — and we want to put it to work. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. As a Nursing Informatics Specialist, you'll help ensure that AI systems accurately understand, reflect, and improve real-world nursing workflows, clinical documentation, and healthcare data.
This is a rare opportunity to step into the AI space using the expertise you've already built — no career pivot required.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Evaluate AI-generated clinical content and informatics outputs for accuracy, safety, and real-world applicability
- Apply your nursing and EHR knowledge to identify gaps, errors, or unrealistic workflows in AI responses
- Translate frontline nursing experience into structured, actionable feedback that improves AI model quality
- Review and assess clinical documentation, EHR workflows, and health IT scenarios generated by AI systems
- Provide expert judgment on patient care processes, documentation standards, and informatics best practices
- Work independently and asynchronously — on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent clinical professional with hands-on nursing experience
- Familiar with EHR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or similar clinical documentation systems
- Able to critically evaluate clinical workflows and identify what's realistic vs. what isn't
- Strong written communication skills — you can explain your reasoning clearly and concisely
- Detail-oriented and consistent when working through structured tasks
- No prior AI experience required — your clinical expertise is what matters
Nice to Have
- Background in clinical informatics, health IT, or nursing leadership
- Experience with data annotation, quality assurance, or clinical auditing
- Familiarity with clinical documentation standards (e.g., SNOMED, HL7, ICD coding)
- Prior work in telehealth, digital health, or remote nursing roles
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects with top research labs and institutions
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Use your existing clinical expertise in a high-impact, future-facing role
- Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
- Contribute to AI systems that could meaningfully improve patient care at scale
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
