Job description

Nursing Informatics Specialist (AI Training)

About the Role

Your clinical knowledge is more valuable than you think — beyond the bedside. We're looking for Nursing Informatics Specialists to help train and evaluate AI systems designed for healthcare environments. As a bridge between frontline nursing practice and health information technology, you'll ensure AI understands real-world clinical workflows, EHR systems, and the nuances of patient care documentation.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your nursing and informatics expertise to cutting-edge AI projects — on your own schedule, from anywhere.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate AI-generated clinical content, workflows, and documentation for accuracy, safety, and real-world applicability
  • Translate nursing workflows and clinical needs into clear, structured feedback that improves AI system design
  • Review and assess AI outputs related to EHR systems, clinical decision support, and health data management
  • Identify gaps, errors, or unsafe recommendations in AI-generated healthcare content
  • Provide structured, expert feedback using defined evaluation frameworks
  • Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent clinical background with hands-on experience in a healthcare setting
  • Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms
  • Solid understanding of clinical documentation workflows and nursing informatics principles
  • Strong analytical skills — able to evaluate clinical data and identify workflow or system issues
  • Clear, precise written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working independently

Nice to Have

  • Background in clinical informatics, health IT, or nursing informatics specialist roles
  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with clinical decision support tools or population health platforms
  • Experience in quality improvement, clinical auditing, or outcomes measurement

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside world-leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and how much you want, within a 10–40 hour weekly range
  • Apply your clinical expertise in a meaningful new direction without leaving nursing behind
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Exposure to advanced large language models (LLMs) and how they're trained for healthcare applications
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
