Chemistry Subject Matter Expert (AI Training)

About the Role

We're looking for chemistry experts to help evaluate and improve the next generation of AI systems. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more accurate models — and your scientific knowledge is the key ingredient.

You'll use your advanced chemistry background to design rigorous problems, assess AI reasoning, and help shape how these models think about science. No AI experience required — just deep chemistry expertise and a sharp analytical mind.

What You'll Do

  • Design challenging chemistry problems across domains like chemical engineering, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and more
  • Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with rigorous, well-documented reasoning
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and quality
  • Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks spanning undergraduate to Master's-level chemistry
  • Provide structured, expert feedback that directly improves how AI handles complex scientific content

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced chemistry domains
  • Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluating reasoning and accuracy
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation workflows
  • Familiarity with AI tools or large language models
  • Background spanning multiple chemistry sub-disciplines
