AI & Data Training Contractor
Remote (Global) $40 – $80/hr May 22, 2026

Job description

Principal Clinical Scientist (AI Training)

About the Role

What if your years of clinical trial expertise could directly shape how AI reasons about medical evidence, regulatory submissions, and patient outcomes? We're looking for a Principal Clinical Scientist to bring senior-level rigor to AI-driven research — ensuring the clinical data powering next-generation AI systems meets the standards you'd expect in a real-world regulatory submission.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced clinical scientists who want to do meaningful work on their own terms. No AI background required — just deep expertise in clinical trial design and regulatory-grade data interpretation.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design and review clinical trial protocols used to generate high-quality, regulator-ready datasets for AI training
  • Interpret and audit clinical trial results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory relevance
  • Evaluate AI-generated clinical analyses for scientific soundness and alignment with regulatory expectations (FDA, EMA, or equivalent)
  • Provide expert feedback that directly shapes how AI models reason about clinical trial data, endpoints, and outcomes
  • Help establish quality standards for how AI understands and evaluates real-world clinical evidence
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Senior-level experience designing clinical trial protocols for regulatory submission
  • Deep expertise interpreting clinical data for agencies such as FDA, EMA, or equivalent regulatory bodies
  • Strong command of clinical research methodology, biostatistics, or translational science
  • Naturally rigorous and detail-oriented — you hold clinical data to a high standard
  • Comfortable working independently and delivering structured, well-reasoned expert feedback
  • No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation systems
  • Background in pharmacology, epidemiology, or health outcomes research
  • Familiarity with AI tools or clinical informatics platforms as an end user
  • Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas or regulatory jurisdictions

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems shaping the future of clinical and biomedical research
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, expert-level work
  • Influence how AI understands, evaluates, and communicates real-world clinical evidence at scale
  • Collaborate with leading AI research teams and labs on the cutting edge of the field
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
