Job description
Biotech Health Data Governance Lead (AI Training)
About the Role
What if your expertise in biotech data governance could directly shape how AI understands and works with clinical research data — influencing discoveries that affect millions of patients worldwide? We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that research and clinical trial data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready to power cutting-edge AI models and regulatory submissions.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced professionals in life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments. If you've spent your career making sure critical data is trustworthy and audit-ready, this is your opportunity to bring that expertise to the frontier of AI.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and full auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
- Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security standards, and metadata management across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
- Enable secure, governed data access for analytics, innovation pipelines, and external collaborations — while protecting confidential and patient-related information
- Evaluate and improve data quality frameworks used to support AI model training in life sciences contexts
- Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards, workflows, and governance practices
Who You Are
- Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or another regulated data environment
- Deeply familiar with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements — including regulatory expectations for clinical trial and research data
- Skilled at working across cross-functional teams — from bench scientists to IT architects to compliance officers
- Detail-oriented and systematic, with a track record of building trustworthy, audit-ready data ecosystems
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training data pipelines
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ICH E6 GCP, or HIPAA
- Background in data architecture, metadata management, or master data management in a life sciences context
- Experience working with or evaluating AI/ML datasets in research or clinical settings
Why Join Us
- Work at the intersection of life sciences and cutting-edge AI — a rare and genuinely exciting opportunity
- Fully remote and flexible — structure your work around your life, not the other way around
- Freelance autonomy with meaningful, substantive project work that draws on your deepest expertise
- Contribute to AI initiatives that support real scientific discovery and better health outcomes
- Collaborate with world-class AI research teams and life sciences organizations
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as projects evolve
