What You'll Do
- Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
- Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security, and metadata standards across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
- Enable secure, governed access to sensitive data for analytics, innovation, and external collaborations — while rigorously protecting confidential and patient-related information
- Identify gaps in data quality, traceability, and compliance workflows and implement practical solutions
- Collaborate with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards and ensure consistent governance practices across the organization
Who You Are
- Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or similarly regulated data environments
- Deeply familiar with data privacy, security, and compliance requirements specific to research and clinical trial data
- A natural collaborator — you can bridge the gap between scientific teams, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to drive alignment
- Detail-oriented and systematic, with the ability to build frameworks that scale without losing rigor
- Self-directed and comfortable operating independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training data pipelines
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, HIPAA, or ICH guidelines
- Experience with data governance tooling — data catalogues, lineage tracking, or metadata management platforms
- Background working across multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-moving research or biotech environment
