Job description
Electrical Engineering Expert — AI Training
About the Role
We're looking for electrical engineering experts to help train and improve cutting-edge AI systems. Your deep technical knowledge will directly shape how AI reasons through complex engineering problems — from circuit analysis to signal processing to power systems.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role that lets you contribute to frontier AI research on your own schedule.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design challenging problems across electrical engineering domains — circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, embedded systems, and more — to rigorously test AI performance
- Author gold-standard solutions with clear, step-by-step technical reasoning that serves as a benchmark for AI learning
- Audit AI-generated content including code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.)
- Refine AI reasoning by identifying logical errors and providing structured, expert feedback that improves how the model approaches engineering tasks
- Document failure modes in AI responses to help research teams harden model reasoning at a foundational level
Who You Are
- Holds or is pursuing a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
- Strong foundational expertise in one or more core domains: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, or similar
- Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing
- Detail-oriented when reviewing mathematical equations, circuit logic, and engineering documentation
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously
- No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, technical writing, or quality evaluation
- Familiarity with simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, etc.)
- Background in systems that span multiple EE subfields
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects in collaboration with world-leading research labs
- Fully remote and flexible — work the hours that suit you
- Freelance autonomy with the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, high-impact work
- Gain rare behind-the-scenes exposure to how advanced large language models are trained
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
