Design System Specialist

DataAnnotation is seeking Design System Specialists to help train and improve next-generation AI models.

In this role, contributors evaluate how AI systems understand, generate, and assess design work across areas such as interfaces, layouts, visuals, and user experiences.

Using professional design expertise, contributors review AI-generated outputs, provide detailed feedback, and help improve AI understanding of aesthetics, usability, accessibility, and creative quality.

This is part of a growing initiative focused on teaching AI systems to better understand visual design principles and user-centered design practices.

Project Overview

Design professionals initially complete DataAnnotation's general assessment and then qualify for Web & UI/UX Design projects.

Once approved, contributors gain access to:

• General AI training projects
• Design-specific evaluation projects
• UI/UX critique projects
• Product design reviews
• Presentation and visual design assessments
• Aesthetic quality evaluations

Responsibilities

• Review and critique AI-generated:

  • UI designs
  • UX flows
  • Mockups
  • Product visuals
  • Creative assets

• Evaluate AI outputs for:

  • Quality
  • Correctness
  • Usability
  • Design effectiveness

• Help train AI models to better understand:

  • Visual hierarchy
  • Interaction design

  • Design best practices

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual level)

• Background in one or more of:

  • UI Design
  • UX Design
  • Product Design
  • Web Design
  • Graphic Design

• Strong understanding of:

  • Visual hierarchy
  • Interaction design
  • User flows
  • Design systems

• Strong written communication skills

• Excellent understanding of grammar, style, and brand voice

Education

A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required. Applicants may be:

• Current students
• Degree holders
• Qualified professionals without a degree
