Perle is a data sourcing company focused on building high-quality, human-generated datasets that power advanced AI systems.
The company partners with leading AI organizations to create training data that helps AI models better understand and generate human language, speech, and conversation.
About the Role
Perle is seeking native US English-speaking university students to join its AI audio training pipeline as Freelance Audio Contributors.
In this role, contributors will record conversational audio from provided scripts to help train next-generation AI speech and conversational systems.
This is a:

Key Responsibilities
AI Voice Data Generation
- Record natural two-speaker conversations using provided scripts and prompts
- Help AI systems learn authentic conversational speech patterns
- Ensure recordings sound:
- Natural
- Clear
- Conversational
- Spontaneous
Audio Quality & Technical Standards
Deliver recordings with:
- Minimum 16kHz sample rate
- Clear audio quality
- Minimal background noise
Ensure each audio file is:
- Between 10 seconds and 1 minute long
Required Qualifications
Native US English speaker
Standard American accent
Currently a university student
Access to:
- Quiet recording environment
- Reliable microphone or headset
Strong attention to detail
Ability to follow written instructions and project guidelines
Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
Basic computer skills including:
- File management
- Audio uploads
- Spreadsheet tools
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in:
- Voice work
- Audio recording
- Transcription
- Data annotation
Experience is helpful but not required
