Role Overview
AfterQuery is seeking Mechanical Engineering Experts for a remote, project-based engineering role focused on CAD design, mechanical analysis, product development, and technical documentation.
This role is ideal for engineers with hands-on experience in mechanical systems, manufacturing workflows, and engineering design who enjoy solving real-world technical challenges across diverse industries and applications.
Projects are asynchronous and assigned individually, with flexible scheduling and opportunities to contribute to meaningful engineering work in fast-paced technical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, review, and iterate on:
- Mechanical designs
- CAD models
- Assemblies
- Engineering systems
- Develop:
- Engineering drawings
- Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Manufacturing-ready technical documentation
- Perform engineering analysis including:
- Stress analysis
- Tolerance analysis
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments
- Support product development workflows from:
- Concept stage
- Prototype development
- Production-ready design
- Document:
- Design decisions
- Assumptions
- Engineering methodologies
- Collaborate on engineering solutions across multiple project domains and applications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2–4 years of professional experience in:
- Mechanical engineering
- Product design
- Related engineering disciplines
- Strong proficiency in at least one CAD platform including:
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- Fusion 360
- CATIA
- Siemens NX
- Equivalent CAD systems
- Ability to produce:
- Detailed mechanical designs
- Industry-standard engineering drawings
- Manufacturing documentation
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently on engineering tasks and deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in:
- Mechanical Engineering
