Role Overview
Mercor is seeking native Mandarin speakers with strong STEM backgrounds to evaluate AI-generated translations of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics content.
In this role, you will assess translation quality across technical domains, ensuring both linguistic accuracy and correctness of complex subject matter. You will play a key role in improving how AI systems handle multilingual STEM content.
Key Responsibilities
- Review translated responses to STEM questions and evaluate translation quality
- Compare outputs and determine which translation is more accurate and effective
- Write reference (“golden”) responses when needed
- Provide clear, structured judgments on both technical and linguistic quality
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across evaluations
Ideal Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese
- Strong STEM background (degree or professional experience in science, engineering, mathematics, or technology)
- Ability to evaluate both technical accuracy and language quality
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills
Work Details
- Fully remote and flexible
- Approximately 1.25 hours per task
- Work involves evaluating AI-generated translations and contributing to model improvement
Contract & Payment Terms
- Independent contractor engagement
- Flexible schedule — work on your own time
- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early based on performance and business needs
