Private Equity Financial Modeling Expert
Job description
Join micro1’s customer team as a Private Equity Financial Modeling Expert and shape the future of AI-driven financial analysis. In this high-impact contract role, you will leverage deep transaction experience to design institutional-grade financial modeling tasks that train advanced AI systems for large-scale enterprise use.
This position focuses on building complex, real-world transaction scenarios that require AI systems to construct financial models from first principles rather than templates.
Key Responsibilities
- Design institutional-quality financial modeling tasks based on real investment banking and private equity scenarios.
- Create comprehensive prompts and execution plans that require AI systems to build models from scratch.
- Develop gold-standard reference models and objective evaluation rubrics to assess AI-generated outputs.
- Build and review advanced transaction models, including:
- Integrated 3-statement models
- Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models with WACC and sensitivity analysis
- Leveraged Buyout (LBO) models
- M&A transaction models
- Growth equity and recapitalization frameworks
- Construct tasks covering specialized deal structures such as carve-outs, recapitalizations, and bespoke transactions.
- Lead diligence-style analyses including unit economics, cohort analysis, and margin driver assessments.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers, documenting assumptions, methodologies, and modeling logic clearly.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, hedge funds, venture capital, or corporate development.
- Demonstrated ability to independently build complex financial models from scratch.
- Mastery of 3-statement modeling, DCF, LBO, and transaction modeling.
- Experience conducting sensitivity analysis and assessing transaction risk/return.
- Strong transaction judgment and meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a high-performance remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across both sell-side (investment banking) and buy-side (private equity or growth equity).
- Familiarity with designing technical training materials or evaluation rubrics.
- Experience with complex transactions such as carve-outs, spin-offs, or minority investments.
